Opened in 1965, the original nine holes at Great Cove make up the front side and the back nine holes were built in the early 1990’s. The front nine plays long and makes for an enjoyable opening, while the back nine is tighter and demands more thought.
An Enjoyable Experience
From the time you step out of your vehicle, you’ll awe at the breath taking views and beautiful scenery.
The opening hole at Great Cove is a majestic par four, measuring 450 yards.
From here you will wind your way through the front nine where the long bombers can take advantage of some straight away greens. Challenging and rewarding, each hole delights.
Don’t forget to stop in our newly renovated clubhouse before you head out to the back nine. Can’t beat a warm hot dog and a cold beer.
Holes 10 and 11 follow a similar trend as the front nine. Now that your loosened up, let’s see how precise you can be. Take advantage in the upcoming holes with shot-placement. These holes give you a great opportunity to regain some lost strokes.
The 17th hole is rated the most difficult, it requires both length and strategic placement throughout the hole. A dangerous par five measuring roughly 550 yards to a tiered green, remember to be cautious of the pin position. A birdie here signifies a great day, no matter how bad you may have played.
The final hole is a 450 yard par four. The most forgivable driving hole from the top tees, only if you can clear the trees. Your last chance to “grip it and rip it.” The green is shaped like a turtle shell.
The final two holes are about as challenging as there is. They can make or break a round. Good luck and have fun.
